The ALS owners came to me frustrated. Their existing cold calling workflow used N8N and required significant manual work every time they wanted to run a campaign: build a list in a spreadsheet, configure calls, review recordings one by one, manually update the CRM. It didn't take me long to work out a plan to automate and fix their issues.
What I built
Two things. First, a calculator for their public website where financial managers can plug in a life settlement policy's details and get an instant valuation estimate. Second, and more substantial, a full internal cold calling platform that handles everything from lead import to campaign execution to post-call analysis.
The platform imports leads and deduplicates them against existing records automatically. Then, you build a target list, configure the campaign parameters (which phone numbers to rotate through, when to stop, max calls per number, time limits), and kick it off. VAPI handles the actual calls. The system cycles through numbers, handles faults gracefully, and auto-terminates when it hits any configured stop condition.
The system listens for webhooks from VAPI to determine when each call completes and then it runs AI analysis to analyze the call for important details, like who was interested in life settlements, if they had ana active case, etc. It would also use AI to determine action items for the sales reps. Like "Send this email a lead with comapny info", "Call this lead next monday", "Add note that this user works with life settlements often".
Leads that hit voicemail get enrolled in cold email sequences rather than just being dropped. Going to voicemail also schedules to lead to receive another follow up call in a month
Results
700+ calls per day. 3-4 qualified leads generated daily. 90%+ reduction in time spent on manual campaign setup and call review. The sales reps at Asset Life went from spending hours per day managing their calling operation to reviewing a dashboard a couple times a day.
